I came across an ad in TV last night. I didn't notice what kinda things they are selling, but it seems to be related to 陳綺貞 because I heard her song 還是會寂寞:
Whenever the band is playing the pre/interlude (at seconds 0:16, 2:26, and 3:51 of the above video), everybody is screaming. The screaming might be a result of some cues made by the singer, such as bowing, waving hands, or saying something. Other than the cues made by the singer, the screaming is deemed to be attributed to the effect of the music.
I think the chord pattern of the interlude has a lot to do with emotions, and in fact this pattern is commonly used in many songs:
IV > V > iii > VI> IV > iv > V7 (B > C# > A#m > D# > B > Bm > C#7)
Of course, the melody of the interlude is a famous and a nicely crafted one. The melody mostly falls into the 2nd / 4th beat. This kind of melody attracts audience's attention by soliciting their counting of 1st / 3rd beats in their head, since it's mostly not there in the melody.
This year the University held its Annual Party at Golden Coast Hotel. We had lunch buffet.
As for table prize, I got McDonald's $10 coupon (x5).
500 staff attended the Party. There are 80 prizes for lucky draw. I am one of the 80 lucky people. I got: PizzaHut $100 coupon (x3).
Nothing to say.
My boss laughed at me: "they know every night you're working until late, so that's why you got PizzaHut coupons for yourself."
This morning...woke up at 12:30pm. Meow determined to take rest at home today and I'm not gonna bother her. I ate congee cooked by mom. Later at 2pm, I indulged myself ---went to the KFC. Then I went to the haircut shop, but it was full of people. The guy asked me to come back at 3pm. At 4pm, I went there again, and there were far more people than it was at 2pm.
So I gave up cutting today. I went to Golden Computer Arcade instead and bought the toner for my black/white laser printer today. The toner I've been using is a starter toner, which came with the purchase of the printer (1.5 years ago), and it's consumability is only 1/3 of a regular toner. With this new toner, based on the current level of usage, I expect that the it can last for about 3 years.
At night I watched this, The Kingdom (2007). Political and ethnic issues are always interesting.
Watched this tonight: Just Follow Law (2007) (Chinese Title: 我在政府部門的日子). This movie has accurately depicted the life in Singapore: apprehensive of violating laws, clean, Singlish...
The bureaucratic working environment in the movie is a typical one. I love one of the civil servant said it in the movie - "sometimes black and white can be very effective". If you know what it means and you can feel it, then congratulations! You're part of the bureaucratic family! I agree with this too, as long as it's not getting too much. Creating some good black/white takes effort and much energy, but it has long lasting effects, and if it is taken in the right direction, it will help the organization to grow!
I am always interested in movies involving immigration stuff. This one is New Mexico-Mexico border thing. It's funny to see a stereotypical, urban, African-American gangster doing businesses in a Hispanic settings.
